National Referendums When Petitions Reach 1,000,000 signatures

Additional Information

I propose that when a petition reaches 1,000,000 signatures we should have a national referendum and let the people decide, not mp's seeing as they can still reject the proposition no matter what public opinion says whether it's immigration the death penalty the EU etc. a direct democracy system is the only way the majority will get their voices heard.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.

You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
