Stop local councils charging non-domestic rates on private equestrian properties
Local councils are targeting private equestrian properties and charging non-domestic rates even though planning permission is for domestic use only.
Stables and arenas can be assessed by the Valuation Office Agency for non-domestic rates. If they are not within the domestic curtilage of your property you may be charged even though planning permission is for domestic use only.
I propose that if planning permission is for domestic use only then the property should be exempt from these charges.
