Allow the public to film sittings of both Houses of Parliament
In the interests of an open democracy and to align with rules for council meetings. The Department of Communities and Local Government has stated explicitly that councils should allow the public to film council meetings. The same rule needs to be applied to both Houses of Parliament. So that the public can film sittings of both Houses of Parliament.
Currently the public when entering the public gallery of either House of Parliament have their electronic recording equipment taken off them on entry to the public gallery and have it returned to them on exit.
