Petition Action

Ban British Media from Unnecessarily bringing religion into articles

Additional Information

The media are constantly publishing articles that make the British Public hate certain religions and people of them, most commonly Muslims.

I want there to be an enforcement that stops the media publishing the articles where religion is brought into it unnecessarily.

Since 9/11, the British media has largely targeted Islamic Extremists throughout the world, where they could have given names of the groups such as Al Qaeda, they have brought the religion into the discussion. Although when the IRA were bombing Britain, there wasn't much talk of them being Catholic.

13 years later, the British people have had their brains filled with hate from British Media and committing hate crimes because the Media has had that effect on them.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The government does not influence what is written in the media, providing it is within the law. There are already laws concerning religious hatred.
