uninspiring UK
Nothing creates a more nondescript identity of Britain than addressing it as the UK-it is now quoted as if it were an actual name of a country.
To some, "UK" may seem modern and global, but in reality it has the appearance and all the inspiration of a postcode; furthermore, it can create a picture of an offshore island of the EU going by the initials UK, rather than an unique country with a long history.
Government bodies (including the BBC) should set an example of enhancing Britain's identity by always addressing Britain as a country and not as uninspiring initials-the UK.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The BBC is not a government body, and it is up to individual organisations how it chooses to address.
