Safeguard the integrity of the Referendum

Additional Information

Given the disgraceful behaviour of an anti- democratic minority within the pro-independence campaign in Scotland, we call upon the sovereign UK government to ensure that everyone who wishes to participate in the debate verbally or through the display of posters, stickers etc is able to do so free from intimidation and violence.
Further, it is essential that no- one seeking to vote is deterred from so doing by the behaviour of anyone within the precincts of the polling station.
In order to ensure the integrity of the vote we ask that there be a suitable presence of the forces of law and order at each and every polling station and that there be zero tolerance of any breach of electoral law.
Finally, we suggest that the maximum penalties in law must be applied to any and all who seek to frustrate or subvert the democratic process.
