Healthy options in vending machines at all NHS Hospitals
One of the important functions of the NHS is to advocate healthy eating, in the hope of reducing the number of patients admitted for conditions relating to obesity and poor diet. However, NHS hospitals currently contain vending machines full of chocolate, crisps and fizzy drinks – the very food types they are warning against in their Change4Life campaign.
We believe that all NHS hospitals should instead by offering healthy options such as fruits, nuts and seeds in these vending machines, actively helping the public make the right food decisions.
