Reduce Railway Suicides
With the ever increasing number of "Persons hit by a train" across the UK Railway Network - I propose that the UK Government provides an increase in mental health provision in the UK, provides funding to organisations such as the Samaritans - and provide research to see if there is anything we as a nation can do to prevent people making this drastic decision that is lifechanging for their families and for the railway staff who have to deal with the aftermath.
I would also like to see if there is any way we can reduce the disruption to 1000's caused afterwards - by reopening lines sooner than at present (sometimes in region of 2-3 hours). One persons actions disrupt 1000's.. This cannot be right - as much as it may sound selfish...
