Petition Action

Develop an official written Constitution in the UK

Petition Details

We believe we have an unwritten Constitution foisted on the people and this is wrong morally. We think a written Constitution is needed outlining relationships between Head of State and Parliament (both Houses) and their interconnections with Security Services, Judicial and other State institutions.

Additional Information

We think a unwritten constitution allows certain groups to have too much power. With a written constitution people are fully informed on what to expect from the State and what is expected of them to the State. With a written Constitution people could be fully informed on who is in charge of procedures in Parliament and other state bodies; and who a citizen can successfully prosecute in civil and criminal courts.
