Ban fireworks for personal use
We urge the Government and Parliament to implement a ban on the sale and use of fireworks by individuals. We propose that fireworks be restricted to licensed, controlled displays managed by professionals for public events, where safety measures can be enforced.
Fireworks pose significant risks to public safety, animal welfare, and the environment. Every year, thousands are injured by fireworks, with severe cases leading to life-altering injuries. Fireworks cause significant stress for animals both pets and wildlife, who suffer from anxiety, disorientation, and even death due to loud noises and bright lights. Additionally, fireworks contribute to pollution, releasing harmful chemicals and debris impacting human health and the environment.
