National measures to prevent people leaving dog faeces on the streets.
We are calling for the Government to require schools to educate children, from infant school age, on the dangers of owners not picking up their dog's faeces. We also want the Government to increase default fines and give more funding for local authority enforcement.
Our communities are littered with dog faeces left on streets and in parks by irresponsible dog owners. We feel this is ruining the enjoyment of green areas and causing a public health concern.
It might be taken into classrooms and homes on shoes, prams and wheelchairs. If children and babies play amongst traces of faeces it can cause serious health concerns.
If you want to sign this petition (as opposed to merely discuss it), you need to do that on the government's e-Petitions website.
