Abandon changes to Agricultural Property Relief announced in the Budget
Have a debate and free vote on the removal of Agricultural Property Relief taking into account our food security & preservation of natural habitat. The combination of low profits and the inter-generational nature of family farms combines with this change to present an existential crisis for farmers.
Farmers work in an industry with significant physical danger, as well as isolation and mental health issues. Some farmers have already taken their own lives as a result of the Budget announcement. We depend on our farmers for our food and maintenance of our natural environment and the Budget, for many family farms, heralds the end of a way of life.
