Introduce basic UK political knowledge into secondary school curriculum
Introduce basic UK political knowledge into secondary school curriculum in PSHE / Citizenships and Values, with what each political party stands for, who people vote and why, and manifestos
There are many young people who are highly uninterested in British politics, which a lot of the time can lead to wasted votes as people either do not vote or they vote based on how much they like the leader's character.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The key stage 3 and 4 curriculums for Citizenship already include teaching about democracy, government and how laws are made and upheld.
You can read more here: www.gov.uk/government/publications/national-curriculum-in-england-citizenship-programmes-of-study/national-curriculum-in-england-citizenship-programmes-of-study-for-key-stages-3-and-4
If you would like Politics to be a compulsory subject in its own right, or the content of the curriculum to change, you could start a petition about that.
