Petition Action

Declare a state of emergency to prioritise climate action

Petition Details

We believe that climate change poses an urgent and unprecedented threat to the UK's environment, economy, and public health. Rising temperatures, extreme weather events, and loss of biodiversity are already affecting our communities, and vulnerable groups can face the greatest risks.

Additional Information

We think that declaring an emergency would help prioritise climate action and that it could enable faster policy changes and resource allocation to help mitigate impacts and protect future generations. It could also position the UK as a leader in global climate action. It could also lead to green job creation and drive more climate education in schools.
