Petition Action

Introduce licences, number plates and insurance requirements for cyclists

Petition Details

I would like the Government to introduce registration for cyclists so that they can be more easily punished when they do not obey the Highway Code.

Additional Information

I believe that there are too many instances of cyclists who ride on pedestrian only pavements, go through red lights etc. I think it's about time that cyclists were brought into 'line' with 'other' road users. I think that many cyclists persistently disobey the Highway Code laws/rules, and this in turn, leads to accidents. I think that this will allow Police to clamp down 'harder' on cyclists.
