Require more time spent in physical education classes in primary schools
We would like an increase to the amount of weekly physical education sessions that primary schools deliver. We think this would help tackle the current obesity epidemic, improve mental health and improve confidence in children. We need to keep our kids moving and healthy.
A 2022 study showed that the amount of children treated for type 2 diabetes in paediatric diabetes units in England and Wales had increased by over 50%. Children face a range of health issues. We think that more exercise in schools could help improve children’s health.
