Scrap the Sugar tax on soft drinks
The Sugar Tax on soft drinks was brought in by the last Conservative government in 2018 partly to try and reduce childhood obesity. We believe it hasn't worked at all and has instead just provided the government more money for no reason.
Childhood obesity remains a problem in the UK and we believe there are better ways of dealing with it.
Instead of taking away people's freedoms of choice on what to eat and drink, we should be encouraging overweight people to live a healthier lifestyle and go to the gym. We think it's not fair how fit, healthy people can be affected by anti obesity measures including this sugar levy which we feel was a bad idea.
If you want to sign this petition (as opposed to merely discuss it), you need to do that on the government's e-Petitions website.
