Change building regulations to enhance sustainability
To include solar panels, batteries, and rainwater reclamation systems as a minimum standard on all new buildings. I believe this will help reduce fossil fuel energy consumption and reliance on national water systems like reservoirs.
I believe it will help promote sustainability in the energy sector as spare energy could be sold to the national grid suppliers which may also lead to reduced energy costs and lower carbon footprint. And I believe the batteries will help during times when energy consumption is higher.
Similarly, rainwater reclamation systems may reduce reliance on water infrastructure like reservoirs while helping reduce water costs and reliance on the struggling national drinking water supply.
