Age Appropriate Reading

Additional Information

We have a guide to tell us when films are age appropriate and now there is a fight to have music videos regulated but what about the books are children read.

Any child can buy and read a book that contains sexual content and horrific violence without care givers having a clue. A rating on a book would at a glance alert an adult to its content. Books can have misleading covers that would not alert anyone to its violent content.

We must better protect our children. Teachers give guidance in schools but for busy parents its hard to know if a child is reading something that may not be suitable for them.
