Make election manifestos legally binding
This proposed law aims to enhance accountability, transparency, and trust in the democratic process by ensuring that the promises made to the electorate are honoured and implemented.
Political manifestos are a cornerstone of electoral campaigns, serving as a contract between political parties and the voters. However, the absence of legal mechanisms to enforce these commitments has led to a growing disconnect between electoral promises and governmental actions. Such discrepancies undermine public confidence in democratic institutions and erode the integrity of the electoral process.
