No one in public service should earn more than the Prime Minister.
After all, he ‘manages’ 67 million people. It has been reported that some Council executives earn considerably more. With the upcoming reform of two tier councils to Unity Authorities there is a risk that executive salaries will rise
Payroll is the biggest expenditure, so to ensure public money is not wasted by individuals in positions of authority.
