Adopt Proportional Representation for fairer UK elections
Introduce a bill to replace the current system with PR.
This bill would go through the standard legislative process: readings, committee scrutiny, and votes in both Houses.
Following approval, the Government would oversee the transition, including public education and system implementation.
Introducing PR for UK elections ensures every vote counts equally.
PR allocates seats in Parliament based on the percentage of votes each party receives, making elections fair and representative.
This system reflects the diverse views of voters, encourages collaboration between parties, and strengthens democracy.
Many successful democracies use PR for fairer outcomes.
We urgently need to modernise our voting system to better represent the will of the British people.
