Public review of police practices to consider biases
I would like there to be a public review of police practices to identify and address any biases in enforcement. I think this would help ensure equality in law enforcement, ensuring all individuals are treated the same, regardless of status or political affiliation.
We think this would help the police prioritise serious crime, and could increase transparency and accountability, and promote regular audits.
We think the petition request has the following potential benefits:
Restoring trust in the criminal justice system.
Ensuring fair treatment for all citizens.
Reducing public fear of overreach and abuse of power.
Encouraging police to focus on issues that most affect public safety and well-being
If you want to sign this petition (as opposed to merely discuss it), you need to do that on the government's e-Petitions website.
