Raise the National Living Wage to £12.50
We believe that raising the National Living Wage to £12.50 could help ensure fairer pay amid rising living costs, help reduce in-work poverty, and help boost consumer spending. It could support workers and families while stimulating the economy and reducing reliance on public benefits.
It could help tackle the cost-of-living crisis and ensure workers earn enough to cover basic needs like housing, food, and energy. In our view, too many people are working full-time yet struggling to make ends meet. A higher National Living Wage could help reduce poverty, boost morale, and support mental and physical well-being. It could also help stimulate the economy by increasing consumer spending. We think the government must ensure fair pay, reduce inequality, and create a sustainable economy.
