Petition Action

Introduce a trained jury

Petition Details

To change the Jury from those inexperienced in the law, to trained volunteers (similar to the workings of a magistrate), where 12 volunteers would go through a series of training courses.

Additional Information

We believe that this will make them more suitable to fairly decide the disposition of a case and ensure fairer trials and correct convictions, so that trials aren't based on the natural bias of a citizen and personal perspective on a case, but rather the legality of a case. We think that in the past people have been wrongfully convicted, due to the inexperience of the jury within a legal setting.
