Government to confirm there are no plans to introduce blasphemy laws into the UK

Petition Details

I want the Government to make it clear through a formal statement in Parliament that they have no plans to introduce blasphemy laws into the UK.

Additional Information

During Prime Ministers questions on
Wednesday 27 November questions were put to the PM by members of his own party that were clearly intended to commit the PM to introduce blasphemy laws. The PM failed to confirm or deny whether this would happen
Criticism of religion of any denomination is a fundamental right of freedom of speech. There is no reason why religion should be exempt from criticism.
