Should government call an election if it evidentially breaks manifesto pledges?
A petition calling for a general election cannot succeed because of the govt majority, yet govt made manifesto pledges to get elected only to break them when in power. That’s wrong
Because we live in a parliamentary democracy and petitions are a legitimate and democratic means of enabling parliament to debate and resolve concerns raised by the electorate
