Petition Action

End Inheritance Tax Discrimination

Petition Details

Ensure those who are childless can benefit from both the 'Resident Nil Rate Band' of £175,000 and the Nil Rate Band of £325,000, before Inheritance Tax is applied. Ensuring the Equal Rights of the childless.

Additional Information

In simple terms, an example of the upper end of the scale would be- if the couple in their £500K house with another £800K in Assets have a child, they would expect, to pay a sum of £120K from their estate in IHT where the childless couple can expect to pay £260K from their estate, the single childless will pay a bill of £390K!!!
