Review strategy for youth crime & anti-social behaviour, and increase funding

Petition Details

We call on the Government to review how to address youth crime and anti-social behaviour to ensure that there are meaningful and immediate consequences for offenders and that prevention, education, and intervention are prioritised. We also urge the Government to increase funding.

Additional Information

We are concerned by rising youth crime and anti-social behaviour, which we believe is due to underfunded youth services, weak sentencing, and limited police powers and systemic failures. We think that proper youth detention, restorative justice, and support systems are needed to prevent further escalation. We also believe the Government must empower police with authority to act effectively and invest in prevention. Communities deserve better, and we believe it is time for the Government to act.
