Petition Action

Increase the 5 year term required to obtain Indefinite Right to Remain in the UK

Petition Details

Presently, people living in the UK for 5 years and who meet the requirements can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR). I believe the high numbers of people entering the UK who cannot work means this is not sustainable. I think they should have to wait 10 years to apply for ILR.

Additional Information

I believe the UK cannot sustain the increased number of benefit claims being made. People who come to the UK who can contribute should always be welcome. However, I think we presently have huge numbers of people who cannot sustain themselves through working.
