Petition Action

Make election manifesto commitments legally binding

Petition Details

Public trust in political parties at an all-time low so this petition proposes that all manifesto commitments are legally binding

Additional Information

The current government has raised taxes which, although aimed at employers, will have an effect on employees payslips, employment growth and small businesses.

An independent department should be set up to ensure that pre-election promises are upheld and that no tax increases etc are sneaked in. Eg removal of pensioners winter fuel allowance
