Petition Action

Allow the Police to use the public genealogy databases to investigate cold cases

Petition Details

We want law enforcement agencies to be given permission and access to the public genetic genealogy databases; to investigate cold cases.

Additional Information

Research shows there are several thousand unsolved killings across the UK. Investigative Genetic Genealogy has had major success in solving over 600 cases in the USA. We think this could potentially help UK police solve hundreds of cold cases and unidentified bodies, bringing closure and justice to desperate families. We think it's also an opportunity to remove violent offenders from our streets.
