Petition Action

Make political parties manifestos legally binding.

Petition Details

An Independent panel should monitor that the new government follows through on its pre-election promises. If after a period of time the panel decides that the promises are not being kept, then a warning should be issued
Following this if its still in breach then a new election must be called.

Additional Information

It's too easy to make promises pre-election which when in power they don't follow up on, and at the moment there's no mechanism for holding them accountable other than waiting 5 years till the next election
