Reform the special educational needs system and properly fund it.
We wish the government to reform the special educational needs system and properly fund it so that children and young people can have access to the specialistic help they urgently require.
England’s SEN system is not delivering better outcomes for children and young people, it is financially unsustainable and in urgent need of reform, according to the National audit office. My grandson is on the autistic spectrum he has been let down by the system and has been unable to get the help he needs mainly because of a lack of funding and long waiting lists, families have to battle to get the help needed and are losing confidence in the system that is supposed to help them.
