Make politics a required subject up to GCSE

Petition Details

The turnout in the last general election was around 60%. I believe that young people don't know how our country's political system works, and are even less likely to understand what parties stand for. This is why we need to teach politics to children.

Additional Information

Due to such a low turnout last election, and recent local by-elections having turnouts as low as 16%, I think that it is clear that political apathy is on the rise. By teaching children how politics work and what different parties stand for, I believe you can increase political participation and make it seem less boring for children.
