Democracy is under threat Govt must proceed with all local elections May 2025

Petition Details

The first sign of any democracy is free and fair elections...closely followed by freedom of speech.

The country is already feeling that freedom of speech is being severely curtailed so we cannot allow elections themselves to become playthings based on party expediency or ideological preference.

Additional Information

Ensure that the long planned Local Elections planned for May 2025 go ahead in full.

The only reason to stop these in the past have been extreme events such as COVID and Foot and mouth.

This is not the case and it's unfathomable that local people will have to suffer maybe poor local councillors or authorities for years longer than would have been.

It's outrages and one step away president from putting back general elections to suit.
