Petition Action

Require social media platforms to identify and remove all unsafe content.

Petition Details

We think social media platforms can be a haven for misinformation, scam ads, generally unsafe content, and rising abuse. We feel reports are often ignored and inaction could allow the content to run rife on these platforms. We think this can expose people to online risks such as unsafe ads/phishing.

Additional Information

We feel that there is rising user resentment towards the laid back attitude of platform controllers and it is apparent that only government can solve the problem. There are concerns that blatant racism as well as victim harassment have been allowed. Besides that, we think misinformation is increasing, including in run-ups to general elections, and what we think are unsafe ads are allowed despite being reported.
