Teach diabetes prevention to secondary school children
Incorporate the National Diabetes Prevention Programme into secondary schools preferably year 9, as we think children are old enough then to understand, participate and remember.
1/10th of the annual NHS budget goes on type 2 diabetes treatment (as of 2018). We think that if diabetes prevention was taught in schools more young people would be aware of the knowledge and potentially look after themselves better to live a healthier life.
