Make St. George's Day an official Bank Holiday in England
This petition has been put forward to show that English citizens wish to commemorate our heritage by celebrating St. Gorges day, this petition is being made to express our full support for a new bank holiday across England on the 23rd April.
We request the UK Parliament to declare St. George's day as an official bank holiday in England by 2026, similar to what the Scottish Parliament did in 2006 for St. Andrew's Day.
Despite numerous discussions among government officials, there has been little movement in formally honouring St. George's Day to date although there is a popular opinion from the general public.
