Investigate and Reform the Failing Access to Work Program for Disabled People
An independent investigation into the failings of the Access to Work (AtW) program and urgent reforms to ensure it delivers the vital support disabled people need to remain in employment. This would then be followed by a public report and urgent reforms based on evidence found.
1. An Independent Investigation into the failings of the Access to Work program to identify the root causes of delays, inconsistencies, and poor communication.
2. Public Reporting of Findings to ensure transparency and accountability in addressing systemic issues.
3. Urgent Reforms to streamline applications, reduce delays, and establish clear service standards.
4. Oversight Mechanisms including an independent ombudsman to review disputes and improve accountability.
5. Consultation with Disabled People to ensure reforms meet the needs of those most affected.
