Fund free DNA ancestry tests for Transatlantic Slave Trade Descendants
The British government played a central role in the transatlantic slave trade.
Key aspects of its involvement:
1. Regulation of the Slave Trade
2. Economic Investment
3. Colonial Exploitation
4. Legal and Military Support
5. Resistance to Abolition
We think that offering free access to tests could restore cultural and ancestral identity that was forcibly erased during the centuries-long period of slavery. We think this erasure has left millions of descendants disconnected from their lineage, cultural heritage, and geographic origins in Africa.
Our key reasons for this policy include:
Reclaiming Lost History
Addressing Intergenerational Trauma
Cultural Empowerment
Correcting Historical Inequities
