Stop income tax on hospitality employees tips/gratuities

Petition Details

I’d like the government to stop taxing employees on tips or gratuities.

Additional Information

The hospitality industry work extremely hard under a lot of pressure. People reward us and then we lose a large amount of that reward. We think Gratuities/ tips shouldn’t be subject to income tax, and that it’s unfair and undeserving. The hospitality industry is already understaffed, we think it can make it a lot harder to keep people when they are taxed on tips. It’s a small bonus that people give of their own free will.
