Introduce an effective dog control & welfare system with a centralised database.
Implement a more stringent registration system for breeders and new owners that will regulate breeding, humanely control the dog population, and promote responsible ownership. The scheme should be supported by a centralised database.
The increasing number of dog bite incidents demonstrates the need for responsible breeding and ownership. The neglect and abandonment of dogs continues to spiral with rescues overwhelmed and in crisis. With microchips being a legal requirement and several pieces of legislation related to the welfare of dogs, a centralised registration scheme and database would provide much needed cohesion.
