Stop fining parents of children who struggle to go to school
Stop fining parents of children who struggle to go to school. Parents should not be punished when they do all they can to get their children to go to school. There can be many issues why children can’t/wont go to school. Fining parents does not help. It makes the situation far worse.
There are a massive amount of children out of school who struggle to go to school for many reasons. This is also an extremely stressful experience for the parents who do all they can to get their children to school. They are not choosing to let them stay at home. Fines and courts do not solve the problem and only make it worse. It is not the fault of the parent. One size does not fit all.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly which circumstances you would like parents not to be fined in.
You may find this information from the Department from Education about when parents will be fined for taking children out of school useful: educationhub.blog.gov.uk/2024/08/fines-for-parents-for-taking-children-out-of-school-what-you-need-to-know/
