Prevent the attempt by some councils to delay local elections in May 2025
To do so would be unconstitutional, not having local elections is an attempt to deny people of their democratic right to vote on local councils controlling local issues.
Produce a road map of how the proposed mega councils will be controlled with clear proposals of how they would be operated in order for small villages and hamlets through to towns and cities without losing sight of the people and their local needs. Publish the plans after consultation has been undertaken and such changes agreed.
Proposing and forcing changes such as mega councils without consultation with the public is un-democratic. Without proper consultation many mistakes will be undertaken.
