Petition Action

Request that all local elections go ahead as planned in May 2025

Petition Details

Multiple Labour and Conservative held councils are applying to postpone their May 2025 local elections. This would cause millions to be denied their democratic right.
The UK is the oldest democracy in the world. Postponing of local elections would damage our reputation worldwide.

Additional Information

The UK government has to step in and prevent local councils from postponing these elections. The damage that will be done to the UK’s reputation as the oldest democracy in the world, would be very serious, and potentially have consequences beyond our own country.
