Accident and Emergency patients who are there through drink or drug abuse should pay for their treatment
Hospital A&E statistics show that in many areas over 30% of patients end up in hospital as a result of alcohol or drug abuse. In such cases the individuals must still be treated but should then be billed for the full cost of their treatment including ambulance costs and any follow-on outpatient treatment.
