Petition Action

Require social platforms let users change algorithms after baby loss/miscarriage

Petition Details

I lost my baby at 21 weeks pregnant. I left the hospital without my baby after enduring a traumatic premature labour. What made it worse was the insensitive targeting I received due to the social media algorithms, which bombarded me with pregnancy, baby, maternity, and IVF advertisements.

Additional Information

We want the government to hold social media companies accountable and require them to allow users to alter their preferences regarding pregnancy, miscarriage, or fertility. Seeing IVF advertisements or baby clothing after losing a baby is indescribable and horrific. We think that something must be done to address this.
