Petition Action

We want to make a change to Pocklington School to make rugby not compulsory.

Petition Details

Since forcing kids to play rugby legally counts as child abuse and child abuse is very illegal we should not be forced to play rugby as we always get hurt and we end up hating thursdays because they force us to play rugby and it puts a bad note to the day thus ruining it.

Additional Information

I think from the perspective of a 12 year old and his friends. (me) we always get hurt in rugby and we think you should not be forced to play it. Please make the school remove this and provide a substitute such as basketball.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about what sports to play at school are a matter for individual schools, not the UK Government or Parliament.
