Call a public inquiry into the grooming gangs, with full powers to prosecute.
Call a public inquiry into the grooming gangs, and provide the committee with full powers to prosecute indiscriminately, with a compulsion to do so.
If anyone is found to have broken the law regardless of position or office, they must be prosecuted.
For a society to have liberty and freedom there is a responsibility to support those who cannot support themselves. The grooming gang fiasco is a failure by the executive, legislature and judiciary branches of government. The victims are those who were helpless, suffering at the hands of brutal unrelenting abuse. Those in power to end this abuse looked on, and allowed this to continue. Society and this parliament owe it to the abused to take firm and robust action against this unacceptable evil.
